College Student Rami Al Khayoti Enforced to Disappear since 2014

SNHR briefed the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary disappearances, of the case of college student Rami Al Khayoti from Nawa city in Daraa governorate, age 27 at the time, and asked to request of the Syrian authorities to release him, as he was arrested arbitrarily at a checkpoint in Nahr Aisha neighborhood in Damascus city by members of military security of the government forces in April 4, 2014, he was taken to by government forces to the Branch 227 known as Region Branch of the Military Security forces of the government forces, and he was last seen at said branch in June 18, 2014, since then his fate remain unknown for his family and the Syrian Network for Human Rights as well.

Syrian authorities deny enforcing college student Rami Al Khayoti to disappear, SNHR were unable to determine his fate until now, as is his family, and they are afraid of detention and torture in the event of repeating questions about him, as happened with many similar cases.
