medics killed

420 medics have been killed from the beginning of the Syrian revolution until the end of October 2014

Abstract
SNHR relies on a high-level methodology in its documentation process through collecting direct testimonies by survivors or victims’ families, in addition to analyzing and verifying photos, video footages, and some medical records. Though, we can’t claim that we’ve documented all the incidents because in light of the ban and pursuit by the Syrian regime and other armed groups.
The consistent shelling and targeting by the government forces against the medical facilities and teams since 2011 indicate a systematic policy that only aims to kill more victims and deepens the suffering of the civilian injured and rebels.
In October, SNHR documented the death of 20 medics whom were all killed by government forces, including a woman and two under torture. They are distributed as follows:
• Four doctors, including a doctor killed under torture inside detention centers.
• Three pharmacists
• A dentist, was killed under torture inside detention centers
• Four nurses, including a woman
• Eight medical staff members.
